About Widowed Warriors
Widowed Warriors is a community for widows and widowers who find purpose, resilience, and connection through training, competition, and physical challenge.
Why We Exist
Grief is deeply personal, and everyone finds their own way through it. For some, physical challenge provides somewhere to put the pain. A run, a hard workout, a race, or simply a goal to work toward can create purpose and a reason to keep moving.
Widowed Warriors exists so you can find that strength in your own way, while knowing there are others beside you who understand.
Why Movement
Training for a race, showing up for a difficult workout, lifting more than you thought you could, or simply going farther than yesterday gives you something tangible to face. There is a beginning, an end, and a challenge you can choose to endure.
The pain of the challenge does not replace the pain of grief. Sometimes, it simply creates enough space to find a little peace within it.
Who This Is For
Widowed Warriors is for widows and widowers who may not find what they need in traditional grief support. For those who need to move, train, push themselves, or take on something difficult as they find their way through loss.
You do not have to be an athlete. You do not have to compete. You just have to be willing to challenge yourself in whatever way that means to you.
What We’re Building
We are building a community where widows and widowers can pursue their own challenges while connecting with others who understand. Through shared stories, resources, events, and eventually opportunities to come together, Widowed Warriors is about finding your own way forward without having to do it completely alone.
